Paul Miller, Stavrou's lawyer, emphasized the significance of the lawsuit as a step towards accountability and systemic change. He highlighted the need for the Ministry to address these failures to prevent future instances of abuse. Stavrou's primary motivation for pursuing the lawsuit is to ensure no other child endures similar experiences.The Children’s Aid Society of Toronto declined to comment on the pending litigation, and the Ministry of the Attorney General had not responded at the time of publication. The defense has yet to file a statement, leaving the allegations untested in court.
